The aim of this guide is two-fold. First, we want to show you the item sets
created for Shamans: tier sets, PvP sets, BoE;
items meant to be worn together, craftable sets, etc.. Second, we want to show
you the models of all the items that a Shaman can wear so that you can design
your own sets or complete sets found on our site or elsewhere.
Below, you will find many sets that are still available in the game
and that can be used for Transmogrification. We first present thumbnails
of all the sets so that you can have a visual overview of what is coming.
For each set, we then list the items and explain how to obtain them.
The guide ends with a More Sets section that redirects to
The Visual Roleplay Gear List,
which is a great resource where you will find many more sets.
1. Overview of the Sets↑top
2. PvE Tier Sets↑top
The PvE Tier sets are obtained from raids. They usually
receive the most attention from the art teams. As such, they
are the most prized pieces of gear for transmogrification.
Each set is usually made of 5 pieces: Head, Shoulders, Chest, Hands (or
Feet, in older sets),
and Legs; though some sets have 8 pieces (with Wrists, Waist, and Feet
being the additional slots).
Raid bosses either drop these pieces directly or they drop a token which can be
exchanged for a specific piece. Some pieces, and even entire sets, can now be
purchased with Justice Points.
2.1. Tier 1
Tier 1 pieces drop directly from bosses and trash mobs in Molten Core:
2.2. Tier 2
Tier 2 pieces drop directly from bosses in Blackwing Lair,
with the exception of the Legs piece, which drops from Ragnaros
in Molten Core:
2.3. Tier 2.5
Tier 2.5 pieces are rewards from quests given by Andorgos,
Kandrostrasz and Vethsera, who are all located inside the
Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. Completing these quests requires to obtain a
certain reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu faction and to
gather 5 scarabs of one kind, 5 scarabs of another kind, 2 idols of the
same kind, and 1 token. All these items are obtainable in the Template of
Ahn'Qiraj. The idols and the scarabs drop from trash mobs while the
tokens drop from raid bosses.
The Tier 2.5 set is a particular 5-piece set, in the sense that the fifth
piece is a Feet item and not a Hands item:
2.4. Tier 3
Tier 3 pieces are no longer available as they were dropped in Naxxramas,
before the instance was relocated to Northrend with updated loot.
It has been speculated that this tier set, or a set with exactly
the same design, would be available after the release of Patch 4.3. Unfortunately,
it did not happen.
2.5. Tier 4
Shamans have 3 Tier 4 sets: a healing set and 2 DPS sets. These sets look exactly the same and are
obtained from NPCs in Shattrath, Asuur (for
players who chose The Aldor) or Arodis Sunblade (for
players who chose The Scryers), in exchange for tokens
that drop from bosses in the first raids of Outland (Karazhan,
Gruul's Lair, and Magtheridon's Lair).
2.6. Tier 5
Shamans have 3 Tier 5 sets: a healing set and 2 DPS sets. These sets look exactly the same and are
obtained from NPCs in Shattrath, Kelara (for
players who chose The Aldor) or Veynna Dawnstar (for
players who chose The Scryers), in exchange for tokens
that drop from bosses in the second tier of Outland raids (Tempest Keep: The Eye
and Coilfang Reservoir: Serpentshrine Cavern).
2.7. Tier 6
Shamans have 3 Tier 6 sets: a healing set and 2 DPS sets. These sets look exactly the same.
Each set consists of 8 pieces that are exchanged for tokens
that drop from bosses in the final tier of Outland raids (Hyjal Summit,
Black Temple, and Sunwell Plateau). The Head, Shoulders, Chest,
Hands, and Legs pieces are exchanged by Tydormu in the Hyjal Summit
raid instance, while the Wrist, Waist, and Feet pieces are exchanged by
Theremis on the Isle of Quel'Danas.
2.8. Tier 7 (10-man)
Shamans have 3 Tier 7 sets: a healing set and 2 DPS sets. These sets look exactly the same.
Each set consists of 5 pieces that can be exchanged, with
Bragund Brightlink in Dalaran, for tokens that drop from bosses in the
first tier of 10-man Northrend raids (Naxxramas and
The Obsidian Sanctum). Some of the tokens (Chest and Hands) can also be
bought directly from vendors in Dalaran for Justice Points. Additionally,
some pieces (Chest, Hands, and Legs) are dropped by
Archavon the Stone Watcher in the 10-man version of
Vault of Archavon.
2.9. Tier 7.5 (25-man)
Shamans have 3 Tier 7.5 sets: a healing set and 2 DPS sets. These sets look exactly the same.
Each set consists of 5 pieces that can be exchanged, with
Bragund Brightlink in Dalaran, for tokens that drop from bosses in the
first tier of 25-man Northrend raids (Naxxramas and
The Obsidian Sanctum). Some tokens (Shoulders and Legs) can also be
bought directly from vendors in Dalaran for Justice Points. Additionally,
some pieces (Chest, Hands, and Legs) are dropped by
Archavon the Stone Watcher in the 25-man version of
Vault of Archavon.
2.10. Tier 8 (10-man)
Shamans have 3 Tier 8 sets: a healing set and 2 DPS sets. These sets look exactly the same.
Each set consists of 5 pieces that can be exchanged, with
Bragund Brightlink in Dalaran, for tokens that drop from bosses in the
second tier of 10-man Northrend raids (Ulduar). Additionally,
some pieces (Hands and Legs) are dropped by Emalon the Storm Watcher
in the 10-man version of Vault of Archavon. Unlike other Northrend raid
sets, none of the Tier 8 pieces can be bought with Justice Points.
2.11. Tier 8.5 (25-man)
Shamans have 3 Tier 8.5 sets: a healing set and 2 DPS sets. These sets look exactly the same.
Each set consists of 5 pieces that can be exchanged, with
Bragund Brightlink in Dalaran, for tokens that drop from bosses in the
second tier of 25-man Northrend raids (Ulduar). Some tokens
(Head and Chest) can also be
bought directly from vendors in Dalaran for Justice Points. Additionally,
some pieces (Hands and Legs) are dropped by
Emalon the Storm Watcher in the 25-man version of
Vault of Archavon.
2.12. Tier 9
Shamans have 9 Tier 9 sets: 3 healing sets and 6 DPS sets.
Tier 9 sets have an
Alliance and a Horde version, but within the same faction, all sets look the
same. Tier 9 sets were originally introduced with the third tier of Northrend
raids, Trial of the Crusader, the first raid to feature a distinct Heroic
difficulty. The sets can be broken down as follows:
Since sets with different item level (within the same faction) look exactly
the same, it is easier, for Transmogrification purposes,
to obtain item level 232 pieces. However, for completeness,
we will list everything.
2.12.1. Tier 9 Item Level 232
The item level 232 Tier 9 sets can be entirely bought with Justice Points
from vendors at the Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown
(Aspirant Forudir for Alliance players and Aspirant Naradiel for
Horde players) or in Dalaran (Matilda Brightlink, both sides). Some
pieces (Hands and Legs) also drop from Koralon the Flame Watcher in the
10-man version of Vault of Archavon.
2.12.2. Tier 9 Item Level 245
The item level 245 Tier 9 sets can be bought with a combination
of Justice Points and Trophy of the Crusade from vendors at the Argent
Tournament Grounds in Icecrown: Valiant Laradia (Alliance) and
Valiant Bressia (Horde). The Trophy of the Crusade token drops from bosses
in Trial of the Crusader: Anub'arak only in the 10-man Heroic version and
every boss in the 25-man Normal version. Some pieces (Hands and Legs) also drop
from Koralon the Flame Watcher in the 25-man version of
Vault of Archavon.
2.12.3. Tier 9 Item Level 258
Each piece of the item level 258 Tier 9 sets can only be bought with a
Regalia of the Grand Protector, a token that drops from
Anub'arak in the 25-man Heroic version of Trial of the Crusader,
from Champion Isimode (Alliance) and Champion Faesrol (Horde) in
Icecrown.
2.13. Tier 10

from Matilda Brightlink in Dalaran. Some pieces (Hands and Legs) also drop
from Toravon the Ice Watcher in the 10-man version of
Vault of Archavon.
2.13.2. Tier 10: Item Level 264
The item level 264 Tier 10 sets are bought from Matilda Brightlink in
Dalaran by turning in pieces from the item level 251 Tier 10 sets with
a Protector's Mark of Sanctification, which is a token dropped by
the end-wing bosses (Deathbringer Saurfang, Professor Putricide,
Blood-Queen Lana'thel, Sindragosa, and The Lich King) in the
10-man Heroic, 25-man Normal, and 25-man Heroic versions of
Icecrown Citadel. Some pieces (Hands and Legs) also drop
from Toravon the Ice Watcher in the 10-man version of
Vault of Archavon.
2.13.3. Tier 10: Item Level 277
The item level 277 Tier 10 sets are bought from Matilda Brightlink in
Dalaran by turning in pieces from the item level 264 Tier 10 sets with
a Protector's Mark of Sanctification, which is a token dropped by
the end-wing bosses (Deathbringer Saurfang, Professor Putricide,
Blood-Queen Lana'thel, Sindragosa, and The Lich King) in the
25-man Heroic version of Icecrown Citadel.
2.14. Tier 11
Shamans have 6 Tier 11 sets: 2 healing sets and 4 DPS sets. Sets of the same item level have the same model.

down as follows:
2.14.1. Tier 11: Item Level 359
The item level 359 Tier 11 sets are bought from Magatha Silverton in

and 25-man difficulties) of
Blackwing Descent, Bastion of Twilight, and Throne of the Four Winds
(Head and Shoulders). Some pieces (Hands and Legs) can also
drop from Argaloth in Baradin Hold.
2.14.2. Tier 11: Item Level 372
The item level 372 Tier 11 sets are bought from Magatha Silverton in
Stormwind City or Gunra in Orgrimmar with pieces from the item level
359 sets and specific token that only drop
from certain raid bosses in the Heroic versions of Blackwing Descent,
Bastion of Twilight, and Throne of the Four Winds.
Note that Al'akir, in Heroic mode, has a chance to drop
Essence of the Forlorn. This item can be used to buy any of the
5 Heroic mode tokens from Magatha Silverton or Gunra.
2.15. Tier 12
Shamans have 6 Tier 12 sets: 2 healing sets and 4 DPS sets. Sets of the same item level have the same model.
Tier 12 sets were introduced with the
second tier of Cataclysm raids: Firelands. The sets can be broken
down as follows:
- 1 healing set and 2 DPS sets of item level 378, with pieces dropping
from Occu'thar in Baradin Hold or being purchasable
with Valor Points or tokens that drop from the last two bosses in the
Normal version of Firelands;
