Welcome to our Arcane Mage DPS guide for World of Warcraft 4.3. Here, you will learn everything you need to know about playing an Arcane Mage in a raid environment, though most of the content also applies to normal and heroic dungeons.

The Arcane specialisation provides excellent single target damage in very stationary fights. Unfortunately, this is the only kind of fights where playing an Arcane Mage is really beneficial. Otherwise, you will prefer Fire when there is a lot of movement or AoE damage, and Frost when for extreme burst damage.

Playing an Arcane Mage relatively well is much easier than doing so with a Frost or a Fire Mage. This specialisation only requires to watch out for a few cooldowns and a great majority of your damage will come from only one spell, Arcane Blast. However, mastering this specialisation is just as difficult as with the other Mage specialisations.
